Millers First Insurance Companies collects information in three categories when you visit our web site.

General Browsing

Visitors to Millers First 's web site browse the site anonymously.  Visitors are not required to provide any personal information to Millers First in order to access our web site.

Millers First Insurance Companies collects general information from each user session, such as the domain you used to access our site (for example, aol.com, or a numerical IP address), the date and time you accessed our site, how long you stayed on our site and aggregate information on what pages you accessed or visited.  This information does not include your e-mail address or any other personal information about you.  We gather statistical information concerning web traffic and usage patterns.  Gathering and tracking this information enables Millers First to evaluate what our customers want, provide adequate capacity for our visitors and helps us to display information in the best manner.

When You Request A Free Quote

When you complete a request for a free auto or homeowners policy quote, the personal information collected is required for us to offer you proper coverage and an accurate quote.  Your information is also used to determine if you qualify for any of our many discounts and, if you purchase insurance through Millers First, we use the information to activate and service your policy.

During the quoting process, information is exchanged between your computer and our server.  To better protect our customers’ personal information, this information is encrypted using VeriSign’s encryption certificate.  Each time you press “continue” to move to the next page, that information is submitted to our server.  So, even if you do not fully “submit” your quote, Millers does receive partial packets of your information.  We may contact you by e-mail to find out if you intended to “abandon” the quote form or if you experienced difficulty with the quote form and need assistance from one of our representatives.  Persons who supply us with their telephone numbers on-line may receive telephone contact from us regarding quotes or requests they have placed through the web site.

When You Request Policyholder Service Transactions

If you supply us with your postal address on-line, you may receive periodic mailings from us with information on new products and services or upcoming events.  If you do not wish to receive such mailings, please let us know by calling us at the telephone number above or contact us by e-mail at mfiwebmail@millersfirst.com.  Please provide us with your exact name and full address.  We will remove your name from our mailing list.

Millers First does not sell or transfer e-mail addresses to third parties.  In some cases, information about you that has or will be collected by us may, without your authorization, be disclosed to third parties who perform services for us or have a legitimate need for the information.  These may include, for example, our group of underwriting companies, claims adjusters and investigators, your agent or broker, actuarial consultants, insurance support organizations, courts, government agencies, and parties requesting such information through legal process.

Security

In the insurance business, it is necessary to collect certain categories of information to prepare a quote for your auto or homeowners insurance and to service your policies.  Some of the information collected is called “Nonpublic Personal Information.”  Nonpublic personal information is information provided by you and information obtained as a result of the company providing a product or service to you.  It does not include information that is available to the general public.

Millers First Insurance Companies collects nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:

• Information provided by you on applications or other forms, through telephone contact with our direct response and customer service units, through interviews with agents selling MFIC products and through forms filled out on our web site.  Examples are your name, address and telephone number.

• From transactions with us, our affiliates and others.  This includes coverage information and premiums, payment history and claims information obtained while processing and settling claims.

• From consumer reporting agencies.  This information is used to supplement information provided on your insurance application in order to underwrite your policy.  It includes information from motor vehicle reports, claims history reports and credit report information.

How We Use the Information We Collect

Information Disclosure to Affiliated Parties

Information about our transactions may be shared within Millers First Insurance Companies and its affiliates in order to underwrite your policies, provide better customer service and provide important information regarding our insurance products.

Information disclosed to affiliates may include:

• Information we receive from you, including application information, such as name, address and social security number;

• Transaction information, such as information about policy coverage, premiums and payment history; and

• Information from consumer reports, such as a consumer’s creditworthiness and credit history.
